In the fall of 2018, my Transmedia class was given the assignment of creating our own transmedia story, told across at least three platforms, and then pitching our classmates, who would then pick which project we would eventually produce. Since we were allowed to use ideas in the public domain, I decided to create an adaptation of the Odyssey, recasting Odysseus as an island-hopping travel blogger, the Sirens as an Instagramming musical group, and Poseidon as a vengeful internet troll with a Tumblr. As a result of these presentations, my class selected two projects to produce, and mine was one of them. My Neverending Journey was produced by myself and eight other students and went live in early December 2018. You can view my reformatted presentation here, or by clicking the link below to download the PDF form. This assignment demonstrated my public speaking and presentation skills, as well as my research and analytical skills.
I want to give another thank you to my fellow students, who believed in my project and helped make it a wonderful reality: Courtney Massey Perrin, Virginia Underwood, Sarah Kegley, Jill Bassett, Epiphany Hunter, Carey Blankenship, and Chasity Wingard. I literally could not have done it without them.
